[Yellow Collection] at Möllevångsfestivalen, Malmö 24-25 July

Next weekend, the [Yellow Collection] is taking over a street
at one of the Sweden’s hottest in-city summer festivals.

Falkenbergsgatan will be rigged with:
Fancy designer furniture made of Yellow Pages,
A mobile DJ-system with some chilled down tunes
and Free wireless connection from Myfi,
Plus a bunch of designers, art directors and journalists on the spot.

All the festival goers are most welcome to drop by with the yellow pages and play with us.
We are aiming to complete a 3 meter high pyramid of yellow pages.

BBQ is on. BYY*

It’s party time. Even though it’s hard to believe right now weather will rock from 18.00 – late, according to sweet weather site Vackert Väder!

So bring your swimmers, sausages or whatever you wanna eat & drink. We provide you with kick-ass DJ’s all night.

If you don’t want to sit on the wet grass, bring some Yellow Pages. Six of them makes a really nice seat when BBQ’ing!

We’ll be right about here.

Don’t feel the pressure, if you don’t have a catalogue or for some obscure reason, you’re actually using it, just come anyway – and party with us.

[yellow collection] @ Sweden’s Radio – Din Gata: Today.

P3 Din Gata

What’s up?

We’ve been invited by Swedish National Radio – P3 Din gata to talk about the [Yellow Collection] project.  If you are in Malmö, make sure to tune in into 100,6 or the web-radio between 15 and 17 Swedish time.

We’ll be twittering live from the studio, gathering ideas to the [Yellow Collection] art pool and, if we get lot’s of listeners, Petter might even tell one of his bad Spanish jokes.

[yellow collection] & Beach Volley: July the 11th; 10-18

Malmö Beach Volley Challenger is the year’s coolest competition. Lots of cute girls and guys kicking each others ass in playing ball on professional level.

Our good friends SouthSide House Collective are spinning some fresh house during the whole tournament (10-18) and are most happy to collect your Yellow Brick if you bring it over to the Dj Booth.

Hurry Hurry!

Say hello to [yellow collection]

so what’s this all about?

Take a second, and think about when was the last time you used the printed version of yellow pages to find contact information… or a printed encyclopedia over wikipedia.org when you wondered about something.

Yet, some companies don’t seem to understand. About 10.000.000 copies of yellow pages were pushed out to households & offices in sweden this year.

We’re flabbergasted when they showed up a few weeks ago. We’re presuming, perhaps inappropriately, that you too, wonder what you’ll use it for.

And we mean proper use, not that you used it to prop up a chair or dry the inside of your shoes or something.

We figured, why not do some experimentation? They all lay there, by your entrance, waiting to get used, in ANY way.

_yellow collection_ is an experiment in user-driven public art. We are using the internet to coordinate the collection and the actual execution of this art project. Instead of us making all the decisions on what to do, or build with all these yellow bricks, we’d like to involve you in this fun.

Come and play with us, see what we can do with these. We believe we can make wonders with them.

What would you do with 10 yellow pages? 100 yellow pages, 10.000 yellow pages? Take a second to think about it.

So, if you’ve got a spare yellow brick, don’t throw it away – it can become art.

Now, let’s play some funk!
